Every premium mail-tracking feature.
Without the bill.
Real-time open tracking, AI compose, automated follow-ups, mail merge and inline scheduling, all in your personal Gmail. Free during beta.
Hey Anjali,
Was thinking about that café you mentioned last weekend. Free Sunday around 11?
…
Did your friend actually read that long catch-up email? Did the family group thread land? You stop guessing.
Apartment search, job applications, finalising the wedding caterer. Every email you send, instrumented.
When the reply doesn’t come, you’ll know whether it was unread or read-and-ignored. Two very different problems.
Premium features. Individual-use pricing.
Every feature an individual power user actually uses, plus three things the incumbents haven’t shipped.
Real-time open tracking
A 1×1 pixel served from Cloudflare’s edge logs the open in 23 ms p95 globally and pushes a toast to your desktop within 1.2 s.
Link & attachment analytics
Every outbound URL is wrapped through the edge; clicks, devices, and city-level geo are surfaced per recipient.
AI compose & smart reply
The sparkle button in compose drafts a reply conditioned on the recipient’s last 3 thread subjects. Sub-800 ms latency, 4o-mini under the hood.
Automated follow-ups
If no reply in N days, InboxLens drafts a follow-up using prior thread context. Approval-required by default. Capped at 3 per recipient. A feature, not a bug.
Mail merge & sequences
CSV → preview → schedule. Per-recipient variables, fallbacks, send-rate limiting, jitter to dodge spam-trap patterns.
Inline cal.com booking
Drop a branded scheduling card into any compose. When the recipient books, the event fires back into your dashboard as a closed-loop signal.
Mobile vs desktop open split
Know whether they read it on the train or at their desk. Nobody else does this. It changes how you write the follow-up.
Privacy as a system property
Email bodies are never stored. Cookieless infrastructure. Internal-domain emails skipped by default. Public /forget endpoint for recipients.
Multi-device dedup
A 12-minute dedup window suppresses preview-pane re-fetches and gmail-image-proxy double-counting. The single biggest reason competitors over-count opens.
Real-time tracking. Real-time response.
Pixel hit → backend logs → toast on your desktop within 1.2 s. Dedup, geo, device split. Built in.
- 011×1 pixel served from Cloudflare’s edge (23 ms p95 globally)
- 02Pixel hit logs event to Postgres, increments Redis counter
- 0312-min dedup window collapses preview-pane refetches
- 04Server pushes via SSE → toast on your desktop in < 1.2 s
At parity on the core. Ahead on AI, scheduling, and privacy.

Things people ask before joining the beta.
Is it actually free?+
Yes. Free during the closed beta, and there will always be a forever-free tier covering personal use (up to ~200 tracked emails/month). Paid tiers exist for power users who want unlimited sequences, mail merge and CRM webhooks.
How is open tracking accurate without a cookie?+
We don’t need cookies. Open detection is server-side: the recipient’s mail client fetches the tracking pixel, our edge endpoint logs the request, and a 12-minute dedup window collapses preview-pane refetches into a single event.
Will recipients know they’re being tracked?+
The tracking pixel itself is silent, but the law (and basic decency) varies by jurisdiction. InboxLens ships a privacy footer toggle that adds a one-line disclosure to your signature, and a /forget endpoint any recipient can use to opt out.
Does it require a Chrome extension?+
Today, yes. It injects the controls into Gmail’s compose window. Outlook web and Apple Mail are on the roadmap. iOS share-extension support is the next mobile beat.
What about my data?+
Email bodies are never stored server-side. We keep message-ids, an unsalted hash of the recipient address, event metadata (timestamp, device-class, city-level geo), and the click/open log. Everything is yours, exportable as JSON, and deletable in one click.
Who built this?+
I’m Niraj, a PM and engineer based in Mumbai. InboxLens started as a side project while I was looking for a tool that did real-time tracking + AI compose + inline scheduling without paying for an enterprise sales suite.
